Sri Lanka A Vs England Lions: 3rd Unofficial Match Between These Two Team

On Monday, Sri Lankan A team faced against England Lions at Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala. That was the 3rd match of 5-match series between the team. That match was very important for both the team, especially for England team.

Because, before Kurunegala ODI match Sri Lankan A team already led the 5-match series by 2-0. Before starting the match, both team captains said at press conference that toss would be the key point for the match.

Luckily England Lions captain KK Jennings won the toss and elected to bat first.

England Lions captain and BM Duckett came to open for England Lions. In the first 8.3 over they collect 50 runs as the partnership and in the next three over they both got out by Sri Lankan bowler.

But finally, England Lions manage to score only 184 runs at the end of 40.2 over. DJ Bell-Drummond was the highest squarer in the first innings (51 runs for 67 run). That was a must win the game for England Lions, because if they lose that match, then series will be sealed by Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka A team bowled well against England Lions team. Especially GSNFG Jayasuriya took 5-wickets from his ten over.

For Sri Lanka, A team set the target of 185 runs. But Sri Lankan A team easily chase the run in the 37th over with the seven-wicket loss. 5-wicket taker was the highest squarer for Sri Lanka A. He scored 83 runs from 83 balls with 100.00 strike rate. Except for S Samarawickrama and GSNFG Jayasuriya, no other batsman manage to score 20 runs. And with the 3rd ODI match against England Lions, Sri Lanka A team seal the 5-match series by 3-0.
