Shikhar Dhawan Says He Can Embrace Slump Period As Well

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan is savoring a purple bit hitting century however he won’t be secretly worried if need to face a slump in form. Dhawan said, “failure teaches you a lot and I am lucky I have learnt so much out of that.”

He added, “The second thing is I would like to keep my fitness on a high level because all the young boys are there. I like to keep myself fit at the pace of the game. Apart from that I don’t really too many goals that I have to score these many runs. I just focus on my process including my fitness, skills, and fielding.”

Skipper Virat Kohli was happy on Dhawan performance, he said “The last three months have been great for Dhawan and he’s cashing in on his purple patch. Hopefully, he stays in this happy zone and we’ll make sure he stays there because he will win you games as long he’s in it.”

Dhawan said that he feels himself in prime form, “I feel I am playing with the same flow that I had when I made a comeback in 2013 and to some extent, it is like how I fared during this Champions Trophy.”

Asked about the next World Cup preparation, the Delhi batsman said “It’s still a long way off. I would just like to keep performing well as there are such great batsmen in our side that anyone can take anybody’s place. And secondly, I would like to keep my fitness at a high level.”
