South Indian Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi’s film Khaidi No 150 has created a history since the movie becomes one of the fastest Tollywood films that earns Rs 50 crore and its US number inch towards $1.5-million mark.
According to the recent figures, the film has cast close to Rs 30 crore in Andhra and Telangana regions alone and over Rs 9 crore in the US market taking the numbers to Rs 50.5 crore worldwide.
On Wednesday, the film has hit in both the Telugu speaking states and display more than 1400 screen.
Posted trade analyst Taran Adarsh gave the late evening numbers on Friday “Telugu film #KhaidiNo150 is heading towards $ 1.5 mn in USA… Tue $ 1,275,497, Wed $ 156,094. Total: $ 1,431,591 [₹ 9.74 cr]. @Rentrak.”
Film Khaidi No 150 had gathered $615,000 at the US box office in advance booking also before it opened in theaters. Classics Entertainment, the company which is distributing the Chiranjeevi-starrer in the US, had tweeted, “Without a single show screened Boss broke all records (non-Baahubali) $615k till 4 pm EST #BOSSISBACK with a bang.”
Previous film Baahubali’s number also bankrupt open-day record as Chiranjeevi and V V Vinayak film earned Rs 23.24 crore, putting down behind the Prabhas-Rajamouli film’s collection of Rs 22.4 crore.
The numbers suggest viewers has received and appreciated the South Indian actor Chiranjeevi’s comeback, who returned to the silver screen after a pause of 10 years. Meanwhile, Khaidi No 150 is way further on of its competitor, Nandmuri Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni, which made only $0.3 million at the US box office on Day 1.
V V Vinayak directed the film Khaidi No 1, leading role lead by Kajal Aggarwal, antagonist role played by Tarun Arora, music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, and Ram Charan produced it under the Konidela Productions banner.
