IPL 2017: Preity Zinta Celebrated Kings XI Win Over Royal Challengers Bangalore

On Friday, 05 May 2017, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta interviewed his team Kings XI Punjab heroes Sandeep Sharma and Axar Patel, who helps to pick up their fifth victory in this tenth edition of the Indian Premier League.

Owner Zinta took a selfie with his team heroes at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru after defeating RCB by 19 runs.

Kings XI Punjab has reached 138 total runs by losing seven wickets, they batted first but could have been restricted to a much lower total had Axar Patel not produced a quickfire 17-ball 38 coming lower down the order.

Kings XI bowler Axar Patel was impressive with the ball for picking up three wickets in the form of Pawan Negi, Shane Watson, and Samuel Badree. While Sandeep Sharma, who also picked up key players like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers with his first five overs.

Sandeep said to his owner Zinta during an interactive session for the official IPL website. “I was thinking before tonight’s game that what it would be like if I took the three big wickets of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers. I mean what would people say, will they talk about it etc and I got it today. It’s a very special feeling and I’m very happy.”

Zinta said about Sharma, “He had asked me (for) a couple of tickets for his family but he asked me very late. I hardly had any tickets on me and hence asked him what would he give me in return. Well he had said four but…”

Virender Sehwag asked Axar Patel to hold the fort till the very end while going for the shots. Axar Patel said, “During the strategic time-out in the 16th over, Viru sir had asked me to play till the end stating that if a batsman stayed at one end it would have helped our cause.”

“And the manner in which the pitch was behaving, even 140 wouldn’t be an easy chase and that was the only objective in my mind, to guide the team to that score,” he added.
