On Friday, when Delhi Daredevils won an awesome encounter over Rising Pune Supergiants, pace bowler Mohammed Shami said at the post-match press conference that after MS Dhoni’s run out was a game changer for them.
Whereas Dhoni has recognized for his quick running between the wickets, but it did not discourage Shami from enforcing the run out which slanting the balance of the game towards DD.
Shami said, “You can say it was a game changer. Even though Mahi bhai runs very well between the wickets I just tried that if, 50-50, it hits, then we can turn the match.”
Talking about Karun Nair, who awarded Man of the Match scoring 64 off 45, Shami said: “That was one of the turning points of the game because to get Mahi bhai out at that time was one of the biggest moments.”
Nair said to iplt20.com that “Because if he’s there until the end he’ll finish off the game most of the time. It was a great effort by Shami to get him out.”
Speaking about the partnership with Rishabh Pant Nair said “After we lost the first 2 wickets, I just had to play the 20 overs. I played normal cricketing shots. The wickets was stopping a bit when they hit it hard but otherwise was a good wicket.”
Nair concluded adding “In most games, we have been able to contribute, the four of us (youngsters). Can’t be thinking about that, thinking about finishing the tournament well now.”
