Wriddhiman Saha

On Friday, Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha said that he certainly not found to former head coach Anil Kumble “strict” and adding that current coach Ravi Shastri always support them to go out there.

Kumble resigned as a head coach from Indian men’s cricket team before the West Indies tour after Captain Virat Kohli had lifted up about his style of coaching. Kumble wrote in his resignation letter that their relationship becomes “untenable.”

Before arriving from Sri Lanka Saha said to reporters, “I did not feel that way. As a coach, he has to be strict in some way or the other. Some have felt he is strict, some have not. I have never felt that way under Anil bhai.”

When asked about differences between the two coaches, Saha said “Anil bhai always wanted us to score 400, 500, 600 and the opponent will be all out by 150-200. That is not always possible. Ravi bhai always tells us to go out there hit the opponent out of the park. This is the only difference I could see. Rest both were positive all the time.”

Australia will be travelling to Bangladesh very soon and then we come to India and then the Ashes, so it is wonderful that the game can now move forward.”

“The players can focus on what they do the best – playing – and the administrators can do their job too. I think everybody is sick and tired of talking about it and very happy that it’s over,” added Clarke.

According to the sources, “It’s a big relief that Angelo will be able to bowl for us again. “My personal opinion was that we needed a change. I felt that I needed to leave enough time for my successor to gel with the team on his way to the 2019 World Cup. That was the only thing in my mind. If I leave a year from now, it won’t be nice. This is the right time for a change. Whoever is going to lead the side, I will give my fullest support.”

Umar Akmal

Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal made a surprising shock and claimed that coach Mickey Arthur has used ‘poor language’ which abused him at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

Akmal said that the former captain Inzamam-ul Haq and former spin bowler Mushtaq Ahmed were both witnesses to the incident. However, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a show-cause notice is ready to issue to Akmal for breaking the terms of agreement and clauses for players by talking to the media on the issue.

The incident happen when the former reached the Academy for training. In July, Akmal was omitted from PCB’s list of players that received national contracts.

On Wednesday, Akmal said to PTI that “I stand by what I told the media earlier today. Mickey Arthur used first poor language and then abused me. Inzaman bhai and Mushtaq bhai (Ahmed) are both witnesses to this incident at the NCA.”

Umar Akmal

He said about the incident that took place in the training at the academy. “When I reached there the first Grant and then our physio, Grant Luden refused to accommodate me saying they were only working with the centrally contracted players. I then went to Mickey and he told he was instructed only to work with the contracted players.”

Akmal added, “He then told me to go and speak to Inzamam and Mushtaq. I went to them and spoke to them. They explained things to me about my status and reminded me I had failed the fitness test several times. They advised me to listen to what was being said to me. I said okay and then they told me to go and talk to Mickey again.”

“First he told me what I was doing at the Academy. He then told me I should go and play club cricket. And then he used poor and abusive language. I can tolerate anything but I don’t think anyone has the right to use such language.”

Umar Akmal

PCB spokesman said to PTI that “He is not a centrally contracted player but he is still bound by clauses governing players even one year after his contract expires. He can’t speak to the media without first seeking permission from the board.”

Akmal admitted that he went to the media because of using ‘bad language’. “I want to know that after I was dropped for the West Indies tour did I complain or blame anyone? I admitted I needed to work harder on my fitness and game.”

“When I was sent from the Champions Trophy which was a humiliating experience for me I didn’t say anything or speak to the media.  I only admitted I needed to improve my fitness and I had to do better.”

“I went to England for rehabilitation and remained positive. But today I went to the media because the head coach used bad language and he has no right to do this with any player and I want the PCB to look into this.”
