On Tuesday, The Board of Cricket for control in India (BCCI) announced that Parthiv Patel will replace Wriddhiman Saha as A wicketkeeper for the coming third Test against England at Mohali.
India’s first choice wicketkeeper-batsman, Saha came in the longest set-up of the game, developed injury in his left thigh the second test at Visakhapatnam. And due to the precautionary happened, Saha has been recommended to rest by the teammate and the medical team of India.
As Parthiv Patel is a new player coming to replace Saha, Patel actually was one of the senior Cricket players who has also played for the Indian Team several, Patel last Test appearance for India was against Sri Lanka in 2008. Indeed, the left-handed batsman has not played for India since 2011 T20 which was played against England.
The last 20 Test, Patel has mounted up 683 runs at an average of 29.69. In the whole Test, he has four fifties to his tribute in whites.
In the meanwhile, Parthiv has made a superb start in Ranji Trophy 2016-17 against Gujarat. By scoring magnificent 415 runs so far with an average of 59.28, here he made three fifties and a century.
So, on Tuesday, the BBCI named out the squad with 16 players for the coming thirds Tests against the English, which will be played at Mohali on 26 November.
